There are a couple different aspects to the alchemy of asking for spiritual help. Why ask? Who to ask? How to ask? When to ask? In this post, we will look at why we should consider asking for blessings and assistance with our spiritual search. We will cover when and how in later posts.
Personally, I have never really asked for physical help or assistance with anything. I am not sure why. I realize the benefits of the ask, and have been known to ask for things when abundance appears to reside, but historically, I have not asked. This changed for me this past year when I started to ask my higher-self for assistance with my desire to find my truth. It just felt like the right thing to do. What I am sharing in this post is what I realized upon asking.
The first realization is, if you get what you desire without asking then from the outside you are either 1) lucky, 2) seen 3) loved, or 4) blessed (or all of these). I say "from the outside" because somehow, unbeknownst to you, you received what you needed without asking. So if you received something you wanted, but didn't ask for, then something or someone is watching out for you (ie something "outside" you). If you get what you desire while asking, then from the inside, from the perspective of self, you are 1) seen, 2) loved or 3) blessed (or all of these). This recognition however, is from the inside. It is from self-to-self. Through asking, you provided yourself, love. You loved yourself enough to ask for help. This is a big move. This is alchemy.
Why or how is this "asking" alchemy? Asking carries an energy of humbleness. It carries an energy of surrender. It inherently releases the energy of control and hands over the reigns, through the energy of willingness and vulnerability, to something or someone greater than you. Asking "asks" for love and compassion from outside, while giving love and compassion to self from the inside. It is not only a big move, it is a double move. Asking provides and opportunity for someone else to be loving and compassionate with you, for you. Asking is a double move of alchemy. You love you and you allow others to love you too. This is the alchemy of the ask. You transmute the energies into love of self.
Think about your heart's desire. See if you feel comfortable asking for a blessing to achieve it. For once you find love for you, you will, in turn, find love for all. Once you have compassion and mercy for you, you will, in turn, have compassion and mercy for all. Allow others to show their compassion and love for you. Ask. Allow your higher self to participate in your journey, specifically. Ask.
May you be blessed to love yourself and have the courage and willingness to ask.
May you be blessed to realize that love of self is the first true move in love for all.
